Studio Update and Works in Progress

Hello Saturday morning, you're my favourite time of the week!  Thanks for sharing your weekend plans with me yesterday, I'm imagining you all doing your fun things all around the world! J and Gus are off to Killarney to close up the cabin for the season so I have the place to myself.  What am I going to do?  Silly question - paint of course!

I'm working on this lovely bedside table for my client Jeanette.  She's in a bit of rough shape but she sure does have great legs, don't you think?

She's going to be feminine and gorgeous when I'm done with her....stay tuned!

I'm also working on my set of chairs featuring Skinny LaMinx fabric.  You won't believe the colour I chose, it was one of your awesome suggestions of course!  Hoping to have some shots in the next couple of days for you.

And my sweet J has been working on getting the basement studio ready, which is needed considering we dipped below zero last night - yikes!

This week he built the second, lower bench and had his electrician friend add a few more overhead lights to the space (what a difference!).  Plus he put down white carpet underlay thoughout the space to keep my tootsies warm and bring even more light into the basement.  Thanks for all your suggestions, we had to nix spray painting everything white but I've picked up some old white sheets that I'm going to drape around for even more light reflection.

Here we are to date, I've already started moving all my winter projects down there!

It's already such a cozy place to work, I know I can keep adding little things to make it homey.  I appreciate all the great suggestions!  I plan to add a little radio for music, some more task lighting and some personal touches like a vase of flowers and some photos.

Don't you just love making spaces your own?  Even on a tight budget?

I wish you the most wonderful Saturday and talk to you soon!

  2. I'm going to have to move inside too, it's getting chilly out!
You could always add some stenciling to your sheets to "homey" them up a bit, like the stencil walls that trendy right now!
