Etsy Love: Stella Bella Boutique

Lately I've been browsing the Etsy jewellery section quite a bit, looking for pretty spring baubles to add something fresh to my wardrobe. My most recent arrivals come from the lovely shop Stella Bella Boutique. I love the romantic whimsical pieces she carries, at super affordable price points.

I ordered these delicate white filigree-style earrings (which I'm wearing today!) ...

And this bronze necklace with a small feather and baby blue rose pendant. She even made the chain extra long for me, just as I like it!

Have you picked up any new jewellery for spring friends? What trend are you feeling?

Hope you have an amazing day!

Etsy Love: Woodsy Touches

Happy Wednesday friends! I hope you're having a good week? Work is busy so it's just flying by around here. The warm weather is back and I have officially ditched my socks - yee haw! (I probably shouldn't have said that - I probably jinxed it now and a blizzard will roll in tomorrow...)

Anyway, it's been awhile since we've talked about the wedding and truth is - I've just been so busy with everything else! My next big project is the invites, we bought a fancy-pants new printer and I just need to finalize my design!

For now, I've been thinking about my sweet hubby-to-be. I love super personalized gifts and I've been wondering what special little thing I could present him on wedding day...since he's a woodworker and owns a hardwood flooring company (and I paint vintage wood furniture), trees and wood motifs have HUGE symbolism for us. I've had my eye on these lovely pieces from Etsy shop Woodcrafts by Mark Diller.

Aren't they regal yet rustic looking? I love the razor...

I also need to get J a wedding band. At first I was eyeing these gorgeous wood inlay rings from Jewelry by Johan. I showed them to J and he loved them! But then we read that they shouldn't be immersed in water and that just wouldn't work with J's job and lifestyle.

They were perfect though and I was sad for a while.

Until I discovered these! These amazing wood styled rings from Beth Cyr Weddings are forged in sterling silver to resemble a knarled tree trunk. Then it's aged with a patina finish that gives it more texture and a vintage feel.  I think it's absolutely perfect for J!

Know what's even better? They come in his and hers sets! I wasn't planning to get a wedding band (I love my engagement ring on it's own) but the thought of us sharing the same wood rings just makes my heart swoon!

Tell me friends, do you choose to have a wedding band on top of your engagement ring? Did you pick out your hubby's ring or buy him a wedding gift?

I'd love to hear your stories of rings and man gifts!

You know I'm a sucker for a pretty bloom motif, but how often do you see them in ceramics? I wish this was the kind of thing I could register for my wedding. Hmmmm, maybe I'm on to something here - does Etsy offer wedding registries? They should!

Vancouver ceramics artist Heather Dahl of Etsy shop Dahlhaus creates the most lovely simple and modern designs. These pieces are definitely going on my wish list!

The multi-coloured bud vases are my favourite, I love the soft blue greens (of course!). What colour would you pick for your space friends?

Etsy Love: Nature Mandalas

What a whirlwind yesterday was, I'm still glowing! On top of that, it's warm today so my thoughts are drifting to spring....I can't wait to pack up and head to the lake for lazy weekends and flip flops. But let's save that for another day - there's still a lot of winter headed our way!

My agency recently moved into a new office in the Exchange District and I've been surrounded by four blank white walls for about a month now. I'm definitely in need of some artwork and I was thinking - since I can't keep a plant alive to save my life and the budget won't allow for weekly fresh flowers - why not think about pretty blooms art prints as a fresh, long-living alternative?

This is where the Etsy Love comes in (doesn't Etsy always save the day?)! I'm completely smitten with these gorgeous fine art photography prints from Etsy shop Nature Mandalas. Love the botanical theme and the colours are so soft and subtle yet still vibrant. So pretty, don't you think?

These are definitely a contender for my new space! The first one is my fave... How do you decorate your workspace friends? Do you prefer homey touches or clean and uncluttered?

PS: Thank you soooo much for all your love and amazing responses to my Winnipeg city guide on Design*Sponge. It was truly an honour to represent our great city to the DS readers! If you haven't had a chance yet, you can check it out here!

Hope you have a lovely Wednesday friends!

Etsy Love: Liz Hutnick

I am in love these adorable hair accessories and pieces of jewellery from Liz Hutnick's Etsy shop. They're so dainty and feminine. Since I've starting wearing my hair in a bun more, I think I need some cute hairpins to accessorize!

Tomorrow is my birthday and there is a weekend extravaganza of awesomeness planned - between dinner out with J, cupcake tasting for the wedding and family get-together! It's also snowing blankets today....so it will be nice to trudge around the city for all good things!

What are you doing this weekend friends?

Etsy Love: Shop Dirtsa

Holy mama it's cold outside here! I'm talking -43 degrees celsius with the wind chill kind of cold! That means that I'm all about staying warm and cozy right now. We bought a new macbook computer and router over Christmas and this is my very first blog post coming from the comfort of my very own bed! Can you say sweet?

I think my bed is my favourite place to be...with the thick down comforter, worn soft sheets and thick comfy pillows. Oh and J and Gus to keep me company! That's why I'm loving Etsy boutique Shop Dirtsa with their adorable throw pillows.

Don't you just love the Scrabble-style design of the letters? J and I love to play the classic word board game, so I'm especially fond of these. They would make me smile every time I climbed into bed!

How's your January weather treating you? Wherever you are, I hope you're warm and cozy!

Have a lovely week my friends!

Etsy Love: Perideau Designs

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope you're all having a good week? I feel like the days leading up to Christmas are flying by in a blur...but I'm trying to savour every moment that I can. J surprised me with a gorgeous (and huge!) tree on the weekend and it's making me smile everytime I walk downstairs.  I've been shopping like a maniac and have almost everyone crossed off my list!

I'm sure I've told you before but I love personalized gifts.  I stumbled across Perideau Designs on Etsy recently and picked up some adorable presents for my neice and nephew.  How precious are these gift ideas?

I can't wait to give them their presents on Christmas morning! (No Lindsay, I didn't include the specific ones I bought so it will be a surprise for you too!).  Lindsay is my sister...

How is your Christmas shopping going? Any great finds!

Etsy Love: Studio KMO

It's been just over a year since we've been in our house and I must admit - I've been finding it hard to put artwork on the walls without all our reno's being done.  Like it seems too 'finishing touch' and the rooms aren't ready for that yet.  But I know I should just buckle down and pick out things I love and enjoy them today.

I have a love for travel so these amazing ink drawings and hand-cut maps gave my heart a little flutter! Check out Studio KMO's Etsy shop here. This map of Manhatten is a pen and paper drawing. How stunning is this?

My heart just swoons for this delicate drawing of Vancouver.

Can you believe this is a hand drawn and hand cut map of San Francisco - gorgeous!

I love artwork that features cities or destinations or somehow captures travel memories. These are so unique and I think they'd look great on our walls. Maybe a collection of cities we've visited together?

How do you commemorate your vacations friends?  Photos, keepsakes, subway tokens?

Etsy Love: Jake & Cleo

Well, it continues to be beautiful here so it's hard to think Christmas but I've finally started my shopping!  This year, I'm trying my hardest to shop local and shop Etsy.  There's a few wishlist items that just aren't possible but that's my guide.  I've started knocking off a few orders online as well, what a timesaver!  Today I ordered the sweetest personalized gifts for my neice and nephew.  I'd love to share them with you but a certain someone (their mom!!) subscribes to this blog and there's no fun in revealing presents before the big day!

For now, I'm showing you something local AND Etsy!  Jake & Cleo are based right here in Winnipeg but they sell their gorgeous silver wares on Etsy so don't be shy about stopping by to check out their goods... Their clean and modern pieces are made from recycled silver so they are perfect for the stylish 'green' gal on your Christmas list.  Oh heck - or even just for you!  Who says you can't Christmas shop for yourself?  A little something for them...a little something for me...a little something...well, that's how I do it anyway!

I love the sharp geometric shapes that play into their designs. You can also check out their blog here.  And for you local gals, you can also buy Jake & Cleo jewellery at Mozy Rue on Osborne. Which piece is your favourite?

Have you started Christmas shopping? What's guiding your Christmas shopping this year?  Budget? Finding the time?  Do you shop online?  I'd love to hear all about your shopping style!  Have a most lovely day friends!
