Style Peek: Preppy stripes + girly details

Yup, those are the pleated pants again! I can't help myself, they're just too comfortable. So I'm back to the drawing board at styling them. This time I tried belting them with my pretty new floral scarf I got from Sweet Laundry in the scarf swap. Then I topped it with a slouchy striped v-neck and my fancy new necklace. I think this is a little better than last time...and I adore the mix of ivy-league stripes and frilly, girly florals, beads and gold! Do you like to mix and match more traditional 'opposites' in your style?

Striped T - Old Navy
Gold and melon necklace - Forever 21
Floral scarf - H&M via Sweet Laundry
Gold flats - Steve Madden

I also did my hair in heidi braids, thanks to an easy-peasy tutorial from Une Vie Geniale...

This is going to be an especially lovely weekend because tonight we're having a date night with one of the restaurant gift cards we received for my shower and tomorrow, J's family is hosting a family wedding shower/bbq for us! Plus last night I had an amazing wedding crafting night with my mom, sister and neice...pics to come!

What are you up to this weekend friends? Doing anything extra fun?

  2. You're hair looks fantastic like this! I need to try this 'do. I'm not very good at braids though. And I love the pattern mixing, stripes and floral. I've got to try it sometime :)

  3. I do love that outfit. The pleated trousers look much nicer with the floral scarf belt. I would love to see you wear a shirt with a cinched waist with those trousers though. You have such an uber feminine body-type, you should utilize it!

**I'm in love with those shoes, and your heidi braids. And the floral scarf belt.

  4. Very pretty! I have been tempted by the pleated pant but have resisted so far ~ this is making a compelling argument...
