Style Peek: Denim with a Side of Cream and Print

If I had a uniform....it would be jeans, flowy printed tops and ballet flats. With cardigan on top when it's cooler. Or swap the shoes for flat boots in winter. Let's just say my style can be pretty predictable, which is why I'm trying some new things this summer like dresses and belted looks. But we all have that 'look' we gravitate to and feel most ourselves in - don't you think?

So this is the look you'll see me in most often. It's me and I love it. This floaty top was a TJ Maxx find on the weekend in Grand Forks. As a Winners-lover (the Canadian TJ Maxx equivalent) I was eager to become a Maxinista! It was so fun to poke through the racks and have EVERYTHING be so different. This top in particular drew me in with it's fun, summer print in shades of coral and pale blue and I love the feminine cream crochet collar detail. It's poly, which is not my usual fabric - but it's fully lined and I just couldn't resist. I paired it with dark denim straight leg jeans and my frequently-seen cognac leather flats. Awesome, comfortable...me.

It's hard to tell in the pic, but those earrings are pale aqua green rosette studs - love them!

I'd love to know friends...what's your uniform? What 'look' do you feel most yourself in?

  2. I've been following your blog for a while now Lenore... I'm loving your little style tips. This look appeals to me a great deal and is my uniform also (although I have a thing for interesting sandals instead of ballet flats - I live in northern Australia where its pretty warm year round). I've been so impressed by your style tips that on the weekend, I bought a little turquoise cardi with 3/4 sleeves (I almost never buy anything other than black, and always long!) I paired it with an Indian cotton embroidered shift top, my fave jeans and a chunky turquoise beaded necklace - I was so so pleased!!! I felt really good in it. You also inspired me to seek out some little flower clips for my hair! Thanks for the inspiration.
