Poetry in Pine

I was so stricken by the originality of this piece that I had to share it with you.  It caught my eye via Design*Sponge on their Thursday before and afters.  Here's the plain and simple before...

The pine coffee table was stripped down and Liz from Sticks and Bricks hammered a poem into the top of it!  Isn't the effect so striking and personal?  It looks like it weathered over the years, with the words etched into it centuries ago.

I absolutely love it!  Don't you love seeing great talent in action?  It always inspires me to push further with my own work.

Hope you're having a great Monday!

  1. Beautiful!
My very thoughtful parents-in-law made me a dining table for my grad gift a while back. My mother-in-law burned a letter for me on the underside of it. Makes it that much more unique and special.

    Have a great Monday!

  6. I know, I've been scouring the net trying to figure out how to do this! I don't know that I could take on an entire poem but I'd love to leave short quotes in my pieces.
