From the Kitchen: Baked Comfort

Doesn't warm fresh chocolate chip banana bread make everything okay again?

I had some sad looking bananas, so I decided to make something yummy.  The carbs had a lot to do with my much-needed comfort food.  I found the recipe here.

What's your yummy treat that makes you feel like all is right in the universe?

  2. Lenore that is my all time fav loaf.

We also make it without the chocolate chips and instead sprinkle brown sugar on top.

    Ohhh yum :)

  4. I'll second the banana loaf and pumpkin loaf comments. I just tried a new pumpkin cranberry muffin recipe recently that will be a permanent favourite... YUM.

My other weakness? Cinnamon buns from the bakery at the lake. I came home with half a dozen on Tuesday, and I totally just ate the last one for breakfast an hour ago. It was just a comfort food kind of week. So next week should probably be a 'start running again' kind of week. Or a 'buy stretchier pants' kind of week... :)

Lindsay - would you be willing to share that pumpkin cranberry muffin recipe? And for the record...I vote for stretchier pants!

  10. once a year I make homemade chicken & egg noodles. Its a recipe that has been passed down from my grandmother to my mother, and to me. I've been daydreaming about cold weather and a bowl of it with mashed potatoes. :]
