I'm bored of my hair. I spent the last few years growing it long, for the first time since high school and I really do love it long. But it sure it high maintenance, what with the washing and blowdrying and figuring out what the heck to do with it. Plus it's thin so if I don't wash every day I get the greasies. Ugh, what's a girl to do?
Well like most things, i start doing research - ha ha! I've been following the Whippy Cake blog and I love love her video hair tutorials. Her main business is glamour bands - super cute hair bands with rosette-style flower arrangements on them (here's a link to the online shop). I'm working up the nerve to actually buy and wear something like this. Someday...
For now, I'm settling for trying braids and buns and twists and other fun things. I'm breaking out of my hair mold people. I mean, who cares right? it's just hair! I'm going to have fun with it!
So if you're looking for great, step-by-step hair tutorials - Becki over at Whippy Cake has you covered! Here's a direct link to all hair tutorial page. But if you love cute girly hair stuff you'll be poring over this addictive blog for hours!
Are you adventurous with your hair? Or do you look like an exact replica of your Grade 11 class photo? Any tips on being 'hair brave'?
Have a fab Thursday friends!
My hair is long- I usually don't brush it- I don't color it and I don't blow dry it-

ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty but I don't know if I could pull off that look. I don't have that much style!
ReplyDeleteMy hairstyle hasn't changed much in the last 8 yrs or so, but I like it and I think it suits me. I am addicted to my straighteners, most definitely...what did we ever do without them? ;)

Pretty. But I'd be too scared too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a wash-every-day girl too, by necessity because my hair is so thin. It sucks. And the combination of how time consuming that can be + the fact that I'm currently maintaining brunette dye over naturally blonde hair (for five years and counting) has caused me to realize that shorter is better. It grows fast, so I'm not scared to play with the cut a little bit, but nothing *too* crazy.
I don't think I'm particularly brave with my hair, other than The Big Colour Change... but it probably says something that I can't even imagine going back again.
Yikes. Sorry. That was a looong rant about hair...
I'm stuck in a rut. Even a switch of hair stylists did nothing for that. I used to wear my hair in braids but then I hit the big _0 and stopped.

what cute hair accessories! I chang my hair in a major way at least every few years. I'm to the point where i know it needs to change now but i'm not sure to what!
ReplyDeleteI love those headbands!! I'm off to check out her site...I say go for it!
ReplyDeleteI love whippycake! I couldn't remember how I came across them but maybe you mentioned them before. I was all ready to order when I saw they are super backed up right now. I'm heading back to work (maternity leave is up) right before Christmas and have been looking for ways to spice up my hair and their hair accessories are exactly the way I want to go.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is pretty boring, mind you, I haven't had a haircut in almost 18 months. Going to go get it done any day now, again, before returning to work.
