It feels like forever since I've had a Lather Creations reveal for you! It's been a slow time of year, so I've been taking the opportunity to take a breather. But I have been working on a chair for my friend Laurena. It all started out when she spotted this Spoonful of Yellow Flowers Bench I had posted for sale a month or so back.
The piece had sold very quickly but Laurena loved the fabric from San Francisco designer Swanky Swell. Turns out it was a perfect match to her kitchen colours in her new home! She came over for coffee and a visit and looked through the Lather Creations studio to see if any of the unfinished chairs or benches would fit her decor style. With clean lines and modern feel, this more contemporary tall back chair was a perfect fit to use in her kitchen office nook.
So I ordered more of the same fabric and set to work turning this into something special. The padding was in great shape but the particleboard base had seen better days. J cut me an exact replica out of plywood and I recovered the chair, replacing the super outdated and faded floral print it currently had on it. The based needed some filler touch ups and a nice sanding job, plus primer to get it back to it's old glory. With crisp white paint to truly make the yellow and gray fabric pop, the chair turned out fabulous. Check out the 'after' shots!
Have a great week friends!
Gorgeous!

I heart Swanky Swell deeply. Have you ever tried economy textile in winnipeg? They carry Dewberry and got some great prints in recently. You may like.
