Before and After: Milk White Weathered Farm Chair
Hey friends! Remember how excited I was about the nice weather on Saturday? Well Sunday was the complete opposite - I'm talking steady rain and plops of snowy sleet all day long. What's a girl to do? Paint furniture of course...
I have four amazing 100-year old antique pressed back chairs that I've been waiting for inspiration on. So I decided to tackle on on Sunday. Of course, in my haste I forgot to take my before pic AGAIN! I know, this is turning into a bad habit with me. Hopefully the 'after' shot makes up for it!
Isn't she lovely? I'm so happy with how she turned out, all creamy and chippy and weathered and fantastic! I used the most gorgeous vintage-y white colour called 'Crisp Linen' by CIL and I think it's going to be my go-to white from now on. I love the touch of yellow undertone that gives it such a rich depth. I heavily sanded the chair after painting, to make it look aged and well-loved, then sealed it with two coats of water-based polyurethane for durability and a nice sheen.
I think it would be just fabulous as a bedside table in a romantic bedroom...where would you put it?
If you live in the Winnipeg area and would love to take the Milk White Weathered Farm Chair home, you can purchase it here. If have an old piece of wood furniture laying around that you'd like refreshed, email me at lhume1@mts.net and we can chat!
Have a great evening friends!

i think that chair is so romantic and sweet! i would love to have it at the head of my dining table!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the distressed white!
ReplyDeleteI think if you had two or three of these pretty little chairs lined up at the front door it would make a really beautiful and functional area for the kids to get their gear on. Then hang a hook above each one, for jackets, and you'd be set. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteBe still my fluttering heart! That is shabby chic heaven :)
ReplyDeleteThe details on that chair are beautiful! Those are some gorgeous chairs!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely Lenore!
ReplyDeleteThis is glorious! love it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and romantic! Love all of the detail on it.
ReplyDeleteWow! Really beautiful. I might need to plan a trip to Winnipeg sometime soon - with an empty trunk so I can bring home a couple of your pieces.
ReplyDeleteSoooo adorable! I want it :). I would definitely use it as nightside table! What brand is CIL? I'm not sure if I've heard of it! I'm you're newest follower! You can check out my rookie blog if you'd like, paintedparlor.blogspot.com. :)
