Furniture and Photographers

Hello Saturday morning!

Remember I told you about the meeting I had scheduled last weekend with a couple of photograhers? Well I'm super excited, because they have both officially become new Lather Creations clients! Erin and Melanie both shoot family, baby and and children's photography here in Winnipeg and I absolutely love both their style!

Here's a little peek at Erin's beautiful work...

 And Melanie's stunning shots...

When Melanie contacted me about using some of my furniture as photo shoot props and bringing along some photographer friends, I said yes yes yes to that! *If you're looking for local photogs, these are two great girls to call...

Melanie took home the Milk White Weathered Warm Chair I had for sale. Remember this sweet thing?

Plus I'm working on this toddler-sized school chair for her as well!

Erin wanted her own 100-year-old pressed back chair, but in a more vibrant colour. So I'm hard at work on this for her...(no hints - you have to check back for the colour she chose!)

Plus I'm recovering this antique bench in some super bright and fabulous fabric...

They won't be done for a while but I will definitely share the 'after' pics when the time comes!

This weekend I also have my Splurge group, my sis and I are taking my grandma on an outing and I FINALLY have to finalize the design on my wedding invites.

How about you friends? What are you up to this weekend?

Thursday Blog Share: Love Maegan

Happy Thursday friends! Are you looking forward to the weekend as much as I am? So I stumbled across another blog that has super fantastic hair tutorials! It's called Love Maegan and she's a California style blogger (self-described Valley Girl!) with a wardrobe to die for (think designer names!). She regularly posts on style, hair, home and anything chic and lovely...

I especially love this tutorial on the side braided updo (she tucks everything under for a romantic look) I left it mine more of a downdo with the braid out for a slightly more relaxed look. Here's my first shot at it, I think it turned out good...a little tricky braid sideways but such a pretty stye for my 'dirty hair day'!

Have you found any good hair tutorials lately friends? Please share! I'm always looking for new ones...

Summer of the Dress

Okay, this post was planned BEFORE it started to snow today. But regardless, I know it's not here to stay so I continue to bubble over with excitement about summer dressing! For me, this is going to be the season of the dress. I've picked up quite a few (I haven't bought new dresses in forever plus with all the wedding events I needed new frocks) and I can't wait to mix and match them with cardis, belts, purses, shoes and jewellery! All I can think about it throwing on my super simple summer dresses and dipping my toes in the lake....

Here is one of my latest purchases, from good old reliable Old Navy. It's white eyelet (love love eyelet) and it's fully lined (a must!) with cute little sleeves (great for when I don't care to bear arms!). Now the fun part - seeing how many times i can wear it in different ways!

How about you? Are you pro-dress? What's your fave style?
