Hello! I am back from a much needed long-weekend break. The truth is that my job is becoming more and more entrenched in social media, so now when I get home - I am less inclined to want to sit at the computer. But I love blogging so much that will of course keep at it, just maybe a little less frequently than usual. I was mad sewing all weekend so more on that later this week...
You may notice a few changes around here. I've added some sponsorship banners to my blog. This is something I debated with for a long time, but since I'm sharing brands and products that I'm passionate about and use myself, I thought it made sense for me and Lather. Write. Repeat. One of the reasons I love to blog is because I get to share my shopping finds and new discoveries with you, so I hope you also enjoy being able to shop some of my favourites.
So on to my promised Modcloth review. It's a bit of a long story but the first two items I ordered from Modcloth were a smidge too small. It was very disappointing because I had followed the sizing chart and they were off by many inches. Luckily, Modcloth has a lot of reader reviews, so it's very helpful to read those when wondering about fit, fabric texture, quality, etc. I returned the other items and ordered this tunic, both sizing up and going with a style with an elastic waist to allow for some stretch. Bottom line is - Modcloth pros: cute, unique styles, super fast shipping (my items arrived literally 3 days after ordering, a great website experience (shop by size, by style, item reviews). Modcloth cons: relatively high shipping costs ($17.95 per order), sizing runs small and is not always size chart accurate. If you're going to order, I would recommend making sure it's something you love, ordering a few items to justify the shipping cost and sizing up on tailored items.
paisley tunic - Modcloth
chocolate tights - HUE via JC Penney
charcoal cardigan - Gap (similar)
caramel tall flat boots - Steve Madden (similar)
I just love mixing neutrals together, this palette of navy, charcoal, chocolate and caramel is so fall cozy! I feel like all the fall colours could go together, you know? Love this season...
In other exciting news, I got my wedding pictures back and I'm so happy with them! I'm currently sorting through the 600 shots to put together some blog posts to share all the details with you!
Have a lovely day my friends!
Oh, this tunic is so cute. I haven't ordered anything from Modcloth in such a long time. The last few times I had sizing issues too so I gave up. But my sister told me that something that helps her when she is thinking of purchasing an item is to go on to the Modcloth facebook page for customer reviews and photos of real people wearing the items.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm so excited to see more wedding photos!
The tunic looks great! But ouch on the shipping! Is there customs on top of it?!? I really wish there were more Canadian brands like ModCloth - I've been stuck with admiring their product from afar!
ReplyDeleteCute tunic! Love the flower print :)
ReplyDeleteThat's it...I've decided I am going shopping tonight for new tights. I love how you style them, and I definitely want to still wear skirts as the weather gets colder...Thanks for the inspiration, Lenore :)
